I’m doing vocals tomorrow evening with ZAAT – or Zaataaz –at the Safehouse Experimental Collective session, tomorrow, Wednesday June 29, 2011, 8:30 PM

Where: Upstairs at the Open House Pub, Springfield Road, Brighton, BN1 6BZ (next to London Road Railway Station.) MAP

  • Z*ghygoem – bass and/or theramin
  • Alistair Strachan – coronet
  • Alison Boston – vocals
  • Tony Gill – drums

We’re supporting the main act John Russell on guitar, Kay Grant on voice, and Dave Solomon on drums.

This will be ZAAT’s first gig – at least in this line up.  We’ve only ever played together in random quartets at Safehouse events.  We won’t rehearse as what we are doing is purely improvisational.   I’m looking forward to it.

It’s bad luck to say the polite response. 🙂

  2. Yeah, I read it this morning. A lot of research went into it. How would you sell it?

  • Turnip Pie the Spanish-Way (not)
I was invited to a multi-national potluck supper, and was brain dead with what to make.  When that happens, I usually fall back on Spanish Tortilla de Patates, but I had yellow turnips in my fridge – not potatoes.  I’ve…Read more ›
  • Leeks ‘N’ Lentils
Oh Yeah! The simplicity of this dish allows the flavours of the leeks and shiitake mushrooms to blend beautifully. It needs nothing more than salt and freshly ground pepper.  I thought about adding tumeric or fresh herbs, but loved…Read more ›
  • Today’s Whole Foods+
Just like you, I used to cringe at the idea of  meal replacement shakes.   If anyone suggested them to me, I’d wrinkle my nose in disgust and say: “I only eat whole foods.” I only ate whole foods till I…Read more ›
