to the global community
by blogging about it!
Thanks so much. I’m sorry I have’nt been available due to a death in the family (my dad) I haven’t been blogging lately. I have, however, been continuing the effort and just got 4 familys on my street to convert! I put flyers in everyone’s mailbox (over 100). I wish I had gotten a better response, but at least 4 more familys are giving it a go. Thanks for the encouragement!
Hey Rebecca, sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. It’s a tough time for the family. Great job on the consciousness raising with the flyers and good you’ve got more families involved in recycling. Keep up the good work – for the planet, in particular your neighbourhood.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I really miss him; yesterday would have been his 82nd birthday. I bought a bottle of champaign and raised a glass to the heavens and toasted his memory. On the recycling front, I’ve been trying to get my work collegues to remember not to throw their plastics in the general trash. We have recycling set up at work, but I’m constantly picking bottles out of the regular trash. Basically I’m shaming them into doing the right thing……..so sad!
You’re doing the right thing Rebecca! You must have been close with your Dad. Maybe you could set up something in his memory. Did he share your passion for the environment and recycling? My dad always planted trees everywhere we lived. He left a trail of trees.
