Pebbles
Scrunch, crack, scrunch, crack, scrunch, crack
On the north, traffic sounds,
just barely muffled by the row of multi-coloured beach huts;
on the south, the sea’s surf
barely discernible over the hustle and bustle
of a Saturday sea front.
………………
But it’s the sky that stops me in my tracks
…causes me to pause, and gaze
a ragged patch of turquoise
peeking through
pink candy floss
encircled by a heavy, almost black
sky
moving from east to west
and another from north to south
colliding out there on the ocean
just off Worthing, I suspect,
…and the sea turns from silver aqua
to a smoky mirror
as the turquoise gem in the sky
fades to blue
white
eaten by the candy floss
devoured by the almost black sky
and it’s not yet dusk!
Love this. I’m so there.
Thanks Deb! Glad it works for you!
Lively sounds! Uplifting candy images off an almost black sky. I’d love to hear it, too, though. Perhaps you’d want to read and upload it one day.
Thanks for sharing it!
Glad you enjoyed it Alee. I did perform it today in a workshop with musicians. I think I’ll try recording it next time.
